Praying for God’s Work in Guatemala

God has a purpose for our lives when we are baptized into Jesus Christ. Paulreminds the Ephesians of this truth: “For we are His workmanship, created inChrist Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we shouldwalk in them.” (Ephesians 2:10). This is the truth that Paul instructed Titus topreach about the life and labor of God’s people in Jesus Christ: “Who gaveHimself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purifyfor Himself His own special people, zealous for good works” (Titus 2:14). Formany years, Sister Candie and others from Waterbury, have travelled toGuatemala to faithfully fulfill God’s call on their lives. On her trip this year,Candie sent us this report: “Estella, meaning “star” in Spanish, is a beautifulyoung woman. She has a wonderful smile, and she smiles a lot. She said shefelt like she was going to hell, so she was baptized (immersed) into theMormon church. She is so “sparkly” and a joy to be around. She works at a callcenter in Guatemala City, and her English is very good. Estella has agreed tostudy with the missionaries after the WEI teams leave. Praise the Lord! Pleasepray for Christopher (mentioned in last week’s bulletin), and Estella and all ofour students, as well as the next WEI team coming in to begin teaching nextweek. Also, pray for us as we journey back to the United States on Saturday.Sister Candie, we will continue to pray for God’s work in Guatemala. VHH
